Many things I had thought little of before are now much more prominent in my thinking and my actions. Having been a Bahá’í for the previous 60 years, I shouldn’t have been surprised by how much I didn’t know, and how much more there is to know, but I was. Thank you so much for this enlightening article as well! I was unaware of the chronological order in which Bahá’u’lláh had revealed His teachings.

Michael and I sure miss your wisdom and knowledge. The Faith is tenderly entertwine with each other and Grows as it Evolves. <3 In spite of the current situation, in spite of the fewness of our numbers, The Faith marches On, Mystically, through Divine Will, and to a culmination of World Peace and Order! 🙂 AWESOME!

We usually think of the Oneness of God, the Oneness of the progressively revealed Messengers of God, and the organic Oneness of the Human Race.

Further, Daniel, I should have put most of my previous response in quotation marks, because I didn’t write it. But I can vouch for its accuracy, Other prominent Baha’i scholars, such as Todd Lawson — often writing for an audience of academics in the field of religious studies — do not employ such capitalizations.

Daniel, in communication with one of the editorial staff, I learned that The Universal House of Justice leaves such details as the capitalization of pronouns referring to the Central Figures of the Faith, and to the use of transliteration conventions, up to the discretion of individual publishers. The House of Justice itself has chosen, in several of its public-facing documents such as ‘The Promise of World Peace,’ not to capitalize such pronouns. At BahaiTeachings.org, they utilize the Associated Press Style Manual, known as AP Style, the standard followed by most newspapers, magazines and websites, and AP Style does not call for the capitalization of pronouns when they refer to prominent figures in religion, governance or other instances.

This is the finger of might by which the heaven of vain imaginings was indeed cleft asunder. Incline thine ear and hear! This is the call of My Pen which was raised among mystics, then divines, and then kings and rulers.” (Qtd. in “Replacing the Sword with the Word: Bahá’u’lláh’s Concept of Peace” (May 2019), first published in shorter form in Logos and Civilization (2000) p. 241.) Saiedi’s discovery has greatly influenced my work. In fact, I based my entire framework of analysis on this new information in “The Eschatology of Globalization: Bahá’u’lláh’s Multiple-Messiahship Revisited” (2004).
