Thank you (as a “beige” woman) for a great reminder of all the wonderful black people I have known, both in the Faith and out of it, starting with the late Denis De Coteau, the director of the San Francisco Youth Symphony I played in as a teen. There’s a great article about him online as he became the much-loved director of the SF Ballet Orchestra. Then in the Faith, there have been incredibly influential people of color and many good friends over the years. I can’t imagine my life without such inspiring and awesome people!

Experience a wonderful and exciting journey through Africa and the reality of the “pupil of the eye” as Amatu’l-Baha Ruhiyyih Khanum and Violette Nakhjavani travel nearly 50,000 miles throughout the continent visiting African Baha’i communities between 1969 and 1973. It’s 600 pages, but well worth the journey! Thanks for this piece.
