Well, that is not the goal of the Bahá’í Faith, which is all about the oneness of humanity and love for all peoples. Just as a toddler eventually gives up tantrums, becomes an adolescent and goes through different trials, eventually becoming a mature adult, humanity is maturing, too. Our collective adolescence may be painful, but it’s not forever. At least, that’s my understanding of the trials we’re all going through at this time.

And yet, many people are inspired by the spiritual teachings of the world’s various religions to refrain from repeating past evils, to turn to God with love, and to treat their fellow humans with kindness. It is shocking to me how violent humans have been in the past and still are in many ways. Still, I have faith that humanity will eventually turn to a better, more spiritual way and grow out of our collective adolescence into our destined maturity.

Hi, Brandon. It’s hard to talk about something we’ve never heard of. I, for one, have never heard someone say they hated God. Sharing the Bahá’í teachings of love and oneness, however, has enabled many people to love God, some of whom had not even believed in God before they heard of the Faith. So, I’m not sure what you’re talking about. Perhaps you’d like to elaborate, even though you wrote this almost six years ago.

Many people feel your pain. It should be obvious that some folks treasure their own self-assurance more than the truth. It’s fairly hopeless to expect them to abandon their polarized positions voluntarily. Maybe the “choir” is our only source
of comfort in the short term, and we should just “wait, watch, and pray”!
